Rob Abell raising money for Alex’s Wish

I’m cycling from London toParis 1-3 July 2016

2 days and counting… excitement, trepidation Im cycling form London to Paris in 3 days

AlexsWish was set up in 2012 by Andy and Emma Hallam after their son Alex was diagnosed with Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy in April 2010 when he was just 4 years old.

6 years later at 10 marks a key milestone as boys with Duchenne are often too weak to walk at this age, typically boys between the ages of 10-12 will be in a wheelchair. Alex is doing great at the moment, but time is not on our side so we have to act quickly to help save this generation of boys, and that is “Alexs wish”.

Duchenne is a life limiting muscle wasting condition to the point that some are totally paralysed by their late teens and with the heart and lungs being effected often means that life expectancy is early to mid twenties.

AlexsWish is a non-profit making charity (charity no: 1148845) with the sole aim to fund world-class science and clinical trials to bring about a cure or treatments to help delay symptoms and to buy these boys more time.

“I am delighted to take some time out from Will writing to be part of this year’s fund raising efforts for AlexsWish, please pray for some good weather for us over the weekend! No rest for the wicked!”
